So this post appears on his wall, more or less:

Hey X, I sent you a message around New Year but not sure if you got it. Uncle so-and-so died, i got a call about it from Aunt Y, but we hadn't seen them in 25 years so I didn't have much to say, I think she was mad. We saw Z around the holidays, was great to see her and her kids and the fam. Grandma is hanging in there but I don't think she wants to so I feel bad for her. Dr. A thinks your dad has dementia he is doing ok but he keeps falling and having episodes. they need to send him to a specialist to check out more. well keep in touch love you mom.

Pretty much full-on in the rambling, barely punctuated nature you see above with numerous misspellings.

Nice of you to note the misspellings in what must be a real crappy time to message a family member that's incommunicado while facing serious family issues. Not sure if this qualifies for the thread. She probably posted it on his wall hoping to get his attention having failed other methods.

Yeah.. not quite sure if that belongs in this thread, given the subject matter of the wall post.

I'm not here to make fun of it; I thought the three sad smileys and the fact that I called it cringe-worthy and depressing would have tipped off the slower members; I guess not.

This is the thread where we lament, for better or for worse, the oversharing and crossed boundaries and social awkwardness created by Facebook, no?
Yeah maybe I'm slow but I thought the thread was where we lament "the things your dumb friends post on facebook". Maybe I can't read and that isn't the title. If I happen to be right, your post effectively called either the mother or the profile owner "dumb" and I think that was uncalled for (at least based on what you posted).
jesus fucking christ, if we're going to get this anal retentive about what you can post on a thread based on its title then we have to move 90% of the posts in this forum.

Douglas, this was posted on your friend's wall by his mother. So unless you are also FB friends with the mother, your friend did not post this on FB. If that is the case, it has no place here and I think it should be grounds for ban, or at least a time out.

Are you trying to make a joke here? Serious question...
No js4design is definitely not joking here. Not at all.

Yes, that was indeed an attempt at a joke. In real life, I do not think Douglas' post is inapproprate for this thread just because it was not from an actual facebook friend, nor is it grounds for banning or time out. Sorry for the confusion.

Ugh. Can anyone actually get all the way through this crap?

No one is surprised.

So, not dumb, but another name that made me chuckle (I think I posted one in this thread awhile ago).

One of my friends has a friend named Beata Ho, and it appears to legitimately be her name.

the one who posted this isn't dumb, but....
