I don't think you're detecting the note of jealousy here, considering that writing a story even just a few pages long can take me months or years, and that I have fully resigned myself to the fact that I simply don't have the ability ever to write a novel— a realization that stings even worse in this day and age when it seems like everyone and their cretinous uncle is hammering away their own epic sword-and-sorcery triskaidecology.

Actually, speaking as someone who doesn't "get" most poetry, I have to say that dissolute law wonk poetry would interest me greatly.

Time again for a non-dumb thing one of my facebook friends posted:

Believe it or not, I have met- and have even spoken to- Miss New Booty here.

^^^ Interestingly, I actually held forth on my mid-naughts-douchebag-golden-era thesis with her, making her the first and only person to be privvy to it before I typed it out on facebook. As impossible as it is to believe, she didn't instantly tackle me to the ground and start straddling me.

I'd smush that tush.

But what did she say?
"How may I take your order?"

Broad I knew from school posts: "Don't believe me just watch." This is a 26 year old woman who told a group of us that she's looking for someone to start a family with, yet she spends her weekends at clubs and during her spare time she apparently posts nauseating rap lyrics on facebook. I wanted to comment "I don't believe you, what should I be on the lookout for?"

I thought the little icon in the bottom corner of that was the Red Lobster logo for a second.

I've noticed some of my facebook friends using "imma" more and more, as in "Imma go to the store." Do people really talk that way, or do they just represent themselves as talking that way on the Internet? FWIW, these people are in their late 30s, so I'm 99% sure they did not grow up saying "imma."

Imma be, imma be, imma imma imma be.
