And these are educated motherfuckers. One of them has a masters in econ from LSE

people making minimum wage don't live in average priced 2 bedroom apartments by themselves. They do things like live in cheap shitty apartments or live with roommates which dramatically reduces the price of housing.

Not to mention that the numbers don't even come close to making sense even for a single person living by themself and living fairly well. The DC number is like $52k/year, if you can't "afford" rent on that you are doing something very wrong.
