Yeah, that looks a little dull to me, maybe the calf leather, cordovan will do better.

Info on 81 Last, it's regular fitting "5" with narrower toebox, if you're wearing 4444 last and it's snug, need to up 1/2 size for 81 Last.

Let's do the longwing boots in black scotch grain...
I have added all design discussed here on first post.

How about black scotch grain (or zug grain as suggested by Wes Bourne) longwing boots.
Natural welt, natural leather sole or even dainite.
Black eyelets.
Red suede tongue and red pulls. (The red tongue wouldn't be very visible when laced.)

Anyway, I'd be up for some form of black scotch grain/zug longwing boots.
I have a strong preference for natural welt but I'm flexible as long as no gumlite or crepe soles.

this is actually a good idea, someone should do it on Men's Clotheing as well, though we can probably never agree on any detail on that side of the forum

Ha! You just posted the same question I was about to ask, size and all.

^ Cheers mate!
Here's something a bit different:

...regarding MTO long-wing boots:

Toe to heel counter, facings:
Turf green repello suede
Quarters to vamp:
Gaucho repello or Marraca Janus suede
Natural inner lining
Natural storm welt and edges
Double mid-sole
Light brown/wheat commando sole
Brass eyelets with 3 speed-hooks on top
Green pull-tab

Gaucho or Marraca?

my understanding of the 81 last is that you would still size down one size from your regular shoe size (i.e. 1/2 size down from Barrie). the difference is that unlike the 4444, where you still have a little wiggle room after sizing down one full size, the 81 should fit snugger.

How come no one has signed up for #s 4 and 5? You'd think that whoever suggested the designs would have...

Just realized you guys went with the 4444 for those, instead of the 4497 last LS used for theirs.
