interesting article. she seemed like a rather fascinating person, especially for someone who was a playmate.

No kidding: the one playmate I met was a major standoffish weirdo. And that was before I ran up to her, screaming like I was wearing bobby socks and she was the Beatles.

It was an avatar I created for Stazy years ago that he never used. In any case, my brand depends on constant avatar innovation. The Mexican bitch in question is Camilla Belle, and I advise you knock yourself out now so you don't have to be the creep fapping during the Virgin Mary movie. (Although if you do anyway, you might as well try applying for an NEA grant beforehand.)

Not in a Biblical sense.

I've met a sprinkling of Playmates over the years. Some were bitchy, haughty and standoffish. Some were sweet but stereotypically dumb. Others were bright, pleasant and altogether enchanting.

I once met and chatted with a Playmate at a yoghurt shop near where I worked on Sunset Blvd. The Playboy building was also nearby. I didn't know she was a Playmate, but figured she was some kind of actress or model and asked her if she were. Shortly thereafter another Playmate came in and the first one introduced me to her. She was also pleasant but not as outgoing as the first one.

Playboy published a big hardcover compendium of all the Playmates to date in 1996 or 1997. After reading about the mummified Playmate, I looked her up in that. It sounded at that time as if she still had a very vibrant, outgoing life, but I suppose there is a big difference between one's mid-60s and early 80s. I'll find out soon enough...if I live that long!

I knew this Playmate, Amanda Hope, Miss July 1992 very well. She had served in the Army band and after the Army she eventually ended up in Houston.

It must have been about in 1997, and we used to run around Memorial Park every day. This was at the end of the air brushing era, and while she was very pretty, she really was not glamorous, like the Playboy photos indicated.

The Playboy cover girl in July 1992 was Pamela Sue Anderson, and the Playmate of the year in 1992 was Anna Nicole Smith, both friends of hers. They obviously took their Playboy exposure and leveraged it into big success. Amanda did OK, but never really made it big, and did not seem to have the huge desire or fortunate timing to make it big via her Playmate of the Month status. I think it is similar to a lot of things. Being a Playmate gives a girl exposure and a chance at big success but they dont all make it.

Amanda moved to Dallas about 1999 and I saw her up there a few times, but again though she was doing well she never really made it truly big while I knew her. I have not talked to her in years but I know her real name so maybe I should do a Face-Book search or something, though I probably wont.

As to the decomposed Playmate, she sounded like she had real issues. Seems like she had the potential to leverage her Playmate of the Month status into something big but she never did.
