These are really nice. Can I ask what last they're on? Simpson?
Thanks. Appears to be Inca.. Unless I mixed up the boxes sometime in the last 8 years..which I doubt 😁

If it were me, I would choose a single monk. Shows off the leather more than the double monk, and maybe a bit more versatile than a whole cut. Do you have a picture of the shell?
80156, 80343, or maybe even 10078?

Seems like a review of the 3D-scan bespoke option went up recently: https://shoegazing.com/2024/03/23/review-carmina-3d-scan-bespoke-derby-in-natural-chromexcel/

Looks promising, it seems. If they can consistently deliver better-than-RTW fit in reasonable time frames it would be great.

What would be the main competitors within this price bracket? Saint Crispins? I recall Hiro Yanagimachi MTM would be a touch higher than $2k if you opt for machine-stitched soles and no shoe trees, but that might have increased (and last Leffot trunk show was something like 18M delivery, which may be a problem for some).

Can anyone give a brief description on the differences between the Carmina Chelsea 80216, 80186, and 80514? I find it so odd that their own website doesn't spell out the differences. Thanks

One is a whole cut. One is on the rain last. And two are on the Inca last (one is the whole cut).

80514..on Rain last..whole cuts
80216 on Rain last ..not whole cut.
80186 on Inca. Not whole cut

Whole cuts are one piece of leather. Look where the heel is usually joined by stiching

Thanks. But I think there are also differences in how long the ankle of the boot is and the shape as well. It looks like 80514 and 80186 are longer, and maybe even tighter around the ankle than 80216. But it's impossible to say for sure based on the pics.

Hi All,

I'm making my first custom order of Carmina chelsea boots (80216). The leather color will be Bourbon codovan. What I'm having a difficult time choosing is the elastic band color.

I would appreciate some advice (especially if you've gone through this process before) considering the website order page is all rendered in 3D and I have no clue if any of that is accurate.

I iniitially thought I'd go with chestnut which looks unoffensive

But then I saw red...

And orange...

And camel...

...and now I'm suffering from some serious decision fatigue. They all look good, but I can't tell if these are truly reflective of what the actual colors will look in general, and against the leather. The rendered lighting look like it's in a studio or a Carmina store.

Would appreciate any advice you can give. I'm leaning towards orange but I've never seen orange rendered in a way where it looks like it's almost a dark ruby.

Thanks!
Hello there!

PM us with your email address, we'll be more than happy to forward some side-by-side images of Bourbon and these elastic colour options.
