Hoit, I am 8D Barrie and 7.5UK Rain. The guidance I received was that while Detroit is roomier that I should stay with the same size. I would guess 12UK for you.

Had a look at my Carmina shoes this morning and realized I can't decide which of the colors Vegano Marron or Natur Marron is the most versatile. I find that both of them pair well with most colors. So I'm asking you fine gentlemen, which of the two do you find most versatile?

The Natur I own is dark brown and the Vegano is a bit lighter with a dark burgundy undertone. Both equally beautiful, imo.

Hmmm. Even for a suede chukka? I was thinking I would probably need a UK12 too, but seeing as a 12 wasn't available thought I would see if I could squeeze into a 11.5 which is. Guess I'll mull it over - thanks for the advice dudes.

If you shoot the guys at Skoak an email someone will get back to you quite quickly. That being said, their advice to me on the exact same pair was to stick with my Rain size. I think the 11.5 would likely stretch enough eventually but it may be tight for a bit.

My fiancee is thinking about getting rid of her spectator shoes. A fun photo of Carmina's women's offerings:

Hi Gentlemen,

I would like to share my first 2 pairs of Carmina after reading through some information shared in this wonderful forum.

Meanwhile, would love to see advise from the experts here on sizing. If I wish to move on to lace up oxford or a pair of monk shoes in Simpson last, what would be the right size to look at if I am now on a UK7 for the Uetam loafers.

Carmina double monks on the Inca last:

To all you Carmina experts:

I have a two-eyelet derby on the Rain last and just bought a pair of chukkas, also on the Rain last. Both are UK size 7 and they fit totally different. I had tried on another pair of chukkas on the Rain last last year and they fit my feet, but didn't buy them (I was looking for chukkas with Dainite soles).

Anyways, when I was at the Carmina store earlier this year, I bought the two-eyelet derby. Even after wearing them for some time, they totally hurt my feet. I just ordered the chukkas from Carmina's online store and am wearing them now - they are so comfy, even though I haven't worn them outside. Any idea why two shoes on identical lasts fit so differently? Granted, one is a calf leather derby and the other a suede chukka, but mind you, the chukkas haven't even been broken in.

Derbies and chukkas (boots in general) fit differently. Boots usually have a higher instep because of the shaft.

Even if they are on the same last? I really thought that the last was the driver...

About to pull the trigger on some 80105 Simpsons but have a question about how pants fit with the shoe. Most of my pants are pretty fitted and have a leg opening of 6.25" - 6.75" (Half width). With those numbers, my pants fit nicely over my AE 5th St boots but I am wondering if they will bunch up around the Simpson last instead of draping nicely over the shoe. What do you guys think? Even if they don't drape, would that still look good or is it better to have a clean drape over the top of the shoe?

6.25 to 6.75 is really aggressive.

With those measurements, you're better off with no break on the pants at all. Not to mention, I think the simpson fits perfectly with tapered cuffs due to the slim/chiseled profile of the shoes.
