That is the brand of leather soles that Carmina uses. It's also what Allen Edmonds use on their shell shoes. It's a high quality brand.

JR Rendenbach

Info about them can be found here.

+1 on JR being of excellent quality. Many Vass shoes have those soles as well.

Carmina Rain:  9 UK

Carmina Simpson:  ?

(AE 1, 5:  9.5 E)

(AE 7:   9 E)

(Alden Trubalance, Barrie, Tremont:  9.5 D)

(Alden Grant:  10 D)

Thanks in advance!

You're a 9.5 in both the 5-last and barrie? Most people 1/2 size down from TTS for the barrie.

The simpson is really narrow, much more narrow than the 5-last. So you can't be a 9UK if you're a 9UK in the rain. Most people size up half from the rain to simpson as well.

These are my sizes and they fit pretty good.

5-last, 1-last, 8-last - 9D
Barrie - 8.5D
Simpson - 8.5UK

I wear a 8.5UK in the rain (also in the forest & inca last)
I went with a 9UK in the Simpson

The Simpson shoe is too big but the 8.5 was too tight. I bought a $1 tongue pad from he local shoe store and just rolled with it. The Simpson last shoes are very wearable this way. It is a narrow last and since you have wide feet you will appreciate the extra room.

Thanks, really helpful.  I had also emailed Skoak and they concurred with both of you - go up a half-size in the Simpson as compared to the Rain.

@JezeC, just to clarify, I'm a 9.5 in both the 5 and the Barrie, but I'm E in the former and D in the latter.

That's what newspaper is for.. just shove some down in the shoe before you wear it. I hear it's all the rage in Europe!

Thank you sir. They are indeed fantastic deals. ESPECIALLY the Shell. Marked down $300+  for two wears! If that doesn't sell, I'm not all that mad. I can take it somewhere and have them stretch it just a bit and I can wear it to the more formal days at work. I'd just prepare some cap-toes for my job.

^^^ Nice shot and shoes.

Nice! Rain's the wider shoe compared to the Forest?

Are the shoes on sale on Carmina's online shop seconds or are they just the remaining shoes from old batches?
