Nice, they look quite a bit lighter than the pictures on the Epaulet site. Did you burnish the toe cap?

I did.

Keep in mind though that these were phone pics, and the shoes were facing the morning sun. In person it's much more of a medium brown.

I currently own one pair of Carminas, a pair of balmorals (Ellison) on the Rain last. These fit beautifully. Would you recommend going for the same size on the Forest?

I'm currently looking at Skoak's CXL brogue boot.

I take the same size in Forest and Rain lasts and I feel that both lasts fit me very well. One of my pairs in Forest last is a natural CXL blucher, and it does fit a bit larger, but not enough to size up. In my experience, CXL shoes/boots seems to fit a bit bigger than their calfskin counterparts, but usually not enough to change the size.

Good to hear. If anything, I was only concerned if the Forest Last would be too small. I don't mind a little toe room and CXL will stretch out a bit anyway.

Forest fits narrower than Rain. Whether the difference is sufficient to warrant sizing up will depend on the individual and their particular fit in Rain. I have wide-ish feet and a high-ish instep and use every bit of space in an 8.5 Rain. The same size in Forest is too tight across the instep and forefoot. I have to size up to UK 9. Or get the Forest in a wide fitting.

Thanks. There's hardly anything more rewarding than polishing shoes.

Can I garner some interest in a (color 8) burgundy shell Jodhpur GMTO?

I love the navy shell one that was put out recently, but I couldn't justify another pair of navy shell boots.
