That boot is like Wow! Robert last would get my vote.

The Carmina website also has a black wingtip boot on the Deia last which looks outstanding as well, although I have no experience with it.

I'm desperate to get my hands on a Suede Jodphur boot (ideally snuff). Would anyone be keen for a group MTO?

The only stock model I have ever seen is this makeup from C&J, sold exclusively at Barneys for a short while:

Some more inspiration from other makers (Click to show)

My preference would be snuff suede, gold buckle, single leather sole, perhaps Simpson last but i'm open to suggestion.

I'd be up for that (depending on price). What's the difference between Robert and Forest? I'd prefer the sleeker of the two.

If you want an inexpensive option in stock, check out Septieme Largeur.  I own a similar one in the link below (different last).  Pic of my boot below that.  I am sure you would be happier with the end result of the Carmina, but wanted to let you know there is a stock model out there that could cure your itch.

I know how you feel jvc. I bought some carmina from gentlemans that were too big! I've added tongue pads and sole which have helped. Have the kudu coming soon- hopefully I have the size down now.

Yea wish , the sad thing is I have three pair of carminas one the same last as these and all three fit! Damn

europrep: The SL is in D width... I take it this is not even close to the narrowness of the Simpson?

inimitable: I might have to fall for this jodhpur but only if it is made in the Simpson and from Gentlemansfootwear. I however am worried about the snuff being too light and think brown suede would be more versatile. The brown suede by Carmina is rather dark... like the SL boot europrep linked. Comments?

The boot I own from SL is on the 174 last which is pointer than the model they are currently selling on the 198.

Unfortunately, I don't have experience with Simpson, only Rain and Forest. Rain is comparable fit to the 174 last from SL with a standard width.

If you are looking for the more sculpted look of the Simpson, you will probably be disappointed with the 198 last. Personally, I think the 198 is good for a boot with Dianite soles.

Hope this helps.

@europrep, thank for the link. They do look rather nice, unfortunately only go up to a size 10UK. I like the last on your boot better anyway.

@konda, Yes I would be happy with the Simpson last and to order through Steve at GF. Snuff is my preference but would be open to brown if it was a dealbreaker for you. Do you have a side by side comparison of the different colours?

I'll google when I get home. What is the general consensus between snuff and brown suede folks? I'm trying to imagine these and constantly keep returning to the conclusion that brown, being darker, is more versatile. It's a jodhpur after all.
