Carmina Shoes : Reviews, Sizing, Photos and More - Page 431

Hey, they are great! What is the color?

Snuff suede.

I'm jumping on the 'show off your ruby shell' bandwagon. Looks almost orange in the bright light. Much richer in person.

Epaulet specials? Nice.

Ruby is a colour I'd like to see more of; looking forward to getting some of my own.

What last are those? Simpson?

Just received my black calf Simpson Chelsea's, will never order direct from Carmina again because of duties, but thankfully they fit great and are my new go to boots.

How much were duties?

Spicycho, can I ask you what size you ordered and how it compares to your other carmina shoes? I only ask because I have also ordered myself black chelsea boots in the Simpson last.

What he said. I'm in Canada, and I had to pay over $200 to get my cordovan chukkas: 18% duty, 13% sales tax, plus DHL's "bend over so we can make it hurt even more" fees. Great boots- beautiful leather, well-made, but that last bit really hurt.

Lets just say if youre in canada the cbsa will charge you 18% duty plus federal and provincial taxes. So in my case a lot. I'm just going to forget it happened and convince myself I got a speeding ticket instead or something, but lets just say I learned my lesson. At least shipping was free and they gave me a vat discount.

MGD, I took the same size as I always do, but I have weird feet. I take 8uk in both rain and Simpson. My 8uk Simpson balmorals feel tighter in the forefoot, the Chelsea might just feel a bit better because of the lace less design might conform to my feet better, but I wouldn't recommend any changes to your reg size in Simpson.

Thank you, it's hard to find an answer around here sometimes on exactly what you need.

Lower instep based on my experience. I don't wear Rain because of that.

Since we mentioned duties and taxes - I am also from Canada, and I have decided to avoid using any company that ships through FedEx or DHL. The duties are crazy.

I request my packages to be sent through the local mail service.
