Those who have easy access to Madrid may wish to visit the main Carmina store on Gran Via. Until April 30th they are having a sample / seconds sale with 50% off, including shell cordovan models. They have a variety of stock and custom models in all sizes, but they have a very large amount in size 8 and 8.5.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone gets!

Awesome PSA. If anyone can source a UK 8 in shell (especially loafers like the ones in my sig) I'd be happy to pay a fee!

Is the number on their Yelp page (http://www.yelp.com/biz/calzados-carmina-albaladejo-gran-via-58-madrid) the right one? 915 487 906? I called that number, briefly explained to the man who answered what I was calling about, and was told, "Sorry, no. No comprende." before they hung up. Hrm...

I'd also be very in if somebody were proxying..

Is Betty normally at the Madrid store? I didn't realize that was her location. I wish I spoke Spanish!

Is it just me, or is ordering from the Carmina web-store a lot cheaper than getting them from anywhere else? I realize that the selection is limited, but 260-275 euros for most of the shoes (calf) seems alot better than most other places.  I realize that there is a 40euro shipping charge, but even with shipping a pair can be had for $400 US.. Am I crazy?

No you aren't crazy. It really is pretty cheap, all things considered. And if the Euro would just go ahead an collapse to something like .50 on the dollar...

I have two experiences with the web store and if you know your size and there's a style you like, then it's a very painless way to have Carminas at your door in less than a week (in my case). If anything, it's a damn good thing they have relatively limited sizes in most styles or I might end up having to add the DHL guy to my holiday card list.

My thoughts exactly. It just seemed strange when you consider that places like Epaulet and the Armoury sell theirs for a minimum of $500-550 before shipping.
