I have two pairs of Carmina shell cognac shoes that I bought in a haste...from different sources. I was worried that I'd be stuck with two pairs having the same colour. Luckily the inconsistency in cordovan from batch to batch played out in my favour.

Pair #1:

700

Pair #2:

^ Nice on both counts. The Saddle still looks pretty dark; did you treat it with any kind of cream?

Here's a current side by side look, as far as I can tell, each of those 4 shoes is a different shade in that light:

saddle vs cognac. the mto boot seems closer to saddle, but slightly darker. of course, the white balance and lighting make a huge difference. the cognac wingtip from epaulet is a dark brown, but not as dark as alden cigar. the saddle captoe is from the armoury.

These are my Epaulet saddle shell Salinger boots next to the MTO cognac shell boots.

I asked Mike if Carmina offers a recrafting service and he was pretty certain that they do.

Wow, this is some pretty damning evidence imo.

Not long ago I found a post on some blog about someone having found their grandfathers Albadejo shoes (not sure if they had the name carmina then). They were in somewhat poor condition from having spent a few decades in a closet, so he sent them to the factory for a touchup. Don't think they were resoled though. Unfortunately I don't remember how I stumbled upon it in the first place so I am unable to link it at this time.

I remember asking the shop assistant in the Paris shop about resoling, and he specifically mentioned that Carmina does resole the shoes they make.

I ordered a cognac shell belt. Received more of a saddle shell color. Will try to post pix tomorrow.
