Carmina Shoes : Reviews, Sizing, Photos and More - Page 203

The delivered boots are nice, but not what I was expecting. I'll be pretty disappointed if they really look more like saddle than cognac.

(I understand that shades of shell vary, but that seems like a fairly significant variance.)

They are definitely lighter than the cognac shell from Epaulet, but the same colour as the cognac balmoral boots from SkoAB. The box says cognac shell cordovan.

I was so excited when I received mine that I did not even think about the ressemblance to the original Horween pics. They are really not the same colour.

I've got the Carmina saddle shell wingtip boot above and these C&J Conistons which are calf but a similar lightness to the saddle shell:

That's why I wanted something darker but in a similar style.

I thought the boot below (Nick Horween's Carmina Cognac Shell Boot) was what we were aiming for with this MTO but I don't know if anyone made that clear to Carmina:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

That anyone would be me and I made it 100% clear since I put that exact pic in the order sheet.

this is saddle shell

I have them right before me and believe me they are beautiful, but it's not what we signed up for. Given the material used I would accept minor deviations, but this is a completely different colour.

Judging from the pictures I was also expecting something much darker.

If there is a pair that is 9.5 UK that somebody ordered and wants to sell because it's not the color they wanted, pm me.

Yes, more or less that with black stitching.

Found these pics on google when i wrote saddle shell cordovan. Both Carmina boots, both saddle but very different. One is what i would call cognac.

the top pair is saddle shell (sf'ers), the bottom pair is brown calf

the oscar saddle shell boot looks nice nonetheless

I agree the boot looks really nice but if we ordered cognac and these are in fact Saddle what are we going to do?
