Are you sure that top captoe boot is cognac? Looks like saddle shell or very light whiskey (whatever Carmina calls that nowadays)

Yes Sir,

100% sure these are Cognac Cordovan and a beautiful shade to boot...no pun intended...ok, maybe just a little pun.....

Anyway, the rarity of the shade is exactly why I procured them.  They are the old school cognac.

All the shades from Horween are growing increasingly dark over the last few years.  So, me observing that, I snatched these up while I could.

This is why I was so quick to kop a pair of the new cognac.

Thanks.

Gentlemen,

I totally understand your sentiments.

However, you have to understand where I am with this.  Here is some shots of my current Carmina Cognac Cordovans that are in my rotation:

As you can see, I need to diversify my portfolio.

Thanks.

Exactly.  That is what I thought as well.  Beautiful indeed.

Thanks.

The U wing boot is pretty amazing , more so in shell.

Well, they are essentially unavailable.

The original run was done by Skoak in 2014 I believe.

I did see where someone on GYW was proposing a very similar model.

I imagine this is fair game to post - please let me know otherwise.
Biggest news to me: new cordovan colors and Buger may be wide open to GMTOs.
Unghh. At least four shell make ups I'm interested in. Longwing boot in bourbon? Longwing wholecut in Armagnac? Longwing in Ruby? Frankenstitch in Armagnac? Yes, yes, yes, and oh God, yes. And that's to say nothing of the calf/suede make ups.

If it's any consolation there will only be a maximum of two cordovan models made.

Maybe we can get GYW to do a the U wing boot in the new cognac shell.

There was a GMTO with @steveyoo1983 of GF for a burgundy version but Carmina couldn't give shell slots to retailers.

If there isn't a makeup already proposed, then go propose it! However, I imagine the voting will be closing soon and late entries will be behind the 8 ball.

With all the lovely photos of Carmina shell DMs I figured I'd break out mine as well...not quite as exotic as Watchman's....but I still enjoy them nonetheless. Lol.

Side by side photos are quite telling as to color...but I still can't believe cognac has changed as radically as it has...Dark "tan" to almost a mid-burgundy is quite a leap.

@justonemore

Those burgundy dub monks are Great!

Yes, the shade is a radical departure from the traditional cognac.

Here are a couple more shots of 2 different shoes in 2 different lighting conditions:
