I noticed that directly before restocking the cognac shell items (double monks and LWBs), the image colors were updated to be darker and redder than previous.

I cannot speak to if the hides are a darker, redder shade - just that their online representation is.  This image is from the Navy LWB MTO (they didn't do a mock-up in navy, just used the "old" cognac as a model):

vs the updated color:

(edited bc original images were "uuuuge.")

Somebody PLEASE buy my Carminas so I can buy these shell LWBs!!

Is that color accurate?! If so, those are by far the brightest and greenest Loden shoes I've seen.

The "new" Cognac looks a lot like Color #4. I don't think it is, though.

Thanks, I am not familiar with IG.  I understood that those shanks were very old but they had them displayed at the shop.

Still not clear to me.

IG = Instagram

The shank could possibly be metal with plastic on the outside of it.

As they said... the "core" is metal.

Not really. They aren't nearly so "Kermit" green. Much more subdued though still definitely on the greener side of Loden than he browner side. The pants, for reference, are a tobacco color so the color in the shot is not great.

I am curious to know why some of you (@Whatchman) just buy shell?.  It seems you have a recent gorgeus collection.
