I'm more interested in hearing your justification than whether you can or not ;)

Haha!! Ok here goes. My Bonafe chukka is much dressier, with w chiseled last, flat welt, closed heel, and medallion toe:

The Carmina one is on a rounded country last with a reverse welt and rubber sole.

Plus.....

SHELL

I think we both know what's going to happen.

FWIW, I wear the same in rain, oscar and hopefully llubi (my llubi boots should be here next week)

I'd say 7.5 for oscar.  I haven't tried llubi but I suspect that if you're sizing down for rain, you'd want to size down for llubi as well.

Carmina shoes mentioned in an article and shown in a piece on the NY Times today. Scroll down to the "Serendipitous Moments" section on Madrid.  http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/05/12/travel/seven-places-europe.html

10.5 Rain, 10.5 Uetam and 10.5 Llubi for me. I tried the Oscar 10.5 and it was too short for me. I guess Oscar = Forest and Rain = Llubi

What is your opinion on Forest compared to Rain? Carmina said the Forest is not very wide. However, you are able to wear Simpson anyway :)

In essence, just continue breaking it in and consider stretching it after maybe 5 wears if it is too tight still.

Thanks for your feedback.

I actually marked the point where it feels too tight after 3-4 hours. Does that area actually belong to the toe box or did I express myself wrong in the first place?

I have this same problem too, in a 11.5 Rain oxford I bought. Only happens on my right foot, for a few shoes I have. I think my foot is just wider there, as yours may be too. This will create more friction. Over time, it may develop into a slight bunion? I created a foam thingy that really helps. Basically a cut-out foam protector for my pinky toe.
