Carmina Shoes - Official Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - Page 1107

Hi All,

What is Carmina's typical completion time for their web GMTOs? Is it the typical 3-4 months like single MTOs?

EDIT: Rather, is the 45 day production time legit?

Those look great. Are you a wide size? I've heard the Detroit fits between a US E and EE.

The one i did in autumn last year (when it still said 30 days initially), ordered 2 or 3 days before the end of the GMTO, took like 49 days to ship. So, more or less, yes.

Same experience for me. Just got the shipping notification for the saddle shell ptb on Oscar and that GMTO closed around 45-50 days ago with stated 45 days. Back earlier when they stated 30 I think they were a bit to optimistic

It's longer that 3 to 4 month lots of delays.

I don't know why Carmina calls these EE. I'm a D width on the brannock and they fit fine.  Maybe it's a Spanish thing.

I think it's EE relative to all of their other super narrow last's! wink.gif

Ugh. As a US E I was hoping those would fit wider. I'll just have to bite the bullet and try something in my size and see what happens.

I wear a 10.5 2E in Alden Barrie and 10.5 3E in Allen Edmonds. I find the Detroit EEE extra wide shoe fits me well, very close to both of the above. Maybe slightly narrower.

It appears that the prices online when up again! Starting to think they are pricing themselves out of the market. At almost $500 a pair, their value is becoming less apparent imo.

I think that's an exchange rate fluctuation--the dollar had a bit of a stumble against the Euro yesterday.

Again?! And not meant toward the dollar fluctuation, but for them changing their prices based on currency exchange. Don't agree with that business practice but oh well.

At $472, they'd appear to be creeping ever closer to what I like to call the "fuck off" territory lol.

Especially with Skoaktiebolaget adding a new more affordable competitor.
