I will order a MTO double monk for casual wear cannot decide between left and right :)  What should you do?

are you getting a Meermin double monk or Carmina? those look like Meermin ptbs

If you are getting Meermin, go with the the brown. That brown is the darkest brown shell ive ever seen. would look amazing as a DB

Horween Shell (cognac), Simpson last :inlove:

These started out a little 'dry'. But after three applications of Reno, and Two coats of Kiwi tan paste wax over the past couple of months they are starting to come along VERY nicely.

cognac. very nice. would you describe them as a light brown?

Yes - light brown seems a good description. Although Cognac sounds tastier, doesn't it?

armoury? how do you like the robert last?

yes, i special ordered these from the armoury since my size was sold out. i went one size down from my normal US size and the special order turnaround was just under 3 months. the robert last is great, fits true to size and appears fairly sleek without being too narrow. these are my first pair of carminas, but i will definitely be on the lookout to add another pair in the fall.

Gerry, you have done well! I have been oggling these in navy for quite some time.

I am very interested to see how the shell reacts to the wholecut makeup.

Please keep us posted.

@taxgenius: thank you!

@NAMOR: As a Sultan of Shell, you'd definitely know that!

@Gdot: Thanks for the kind words! Your green shells are definitely stunners! I'll keep you posted on how the shell goes with the wholecut makeup - so far, it's creasing at the toecap. I will see what difference a good brushing makes.

Right now, I'm thinking about going down the MRO route with Carmina to get myself a pair of shell wingtip boots but on a wider last like the Soller. I was very impressed with the pictures of what Carmina did for Epaulet.

Thinking about a colour somewhere between the Epaulet Salinger and the C&J Ralph Lauren Lindrick.

Any thoughts?

Creasing at the toe cap is a perfectly fine start, no?
