I tried Rain and Simpson in the same size and Rain felt much wider to me.

I wear the same size in both. I find that Simpson fits snug (which I prefer), similar to G&G. Rain is just a tad wider; but not so wide that my feet slide around. More like a medium width for most shoes. I like both. The Simpson model 010078 is so sleek that it borders on appearing effeminate. My wife commented that she would like a pair of boots in a similar shape.

I dont know whether I should laugh or cry (that last comment) since my wife tells me the exact same thing...

I have a semi wide feet and I take same size on both Rain & Simpson as well. But recently I've realized half size up on Simpson/Alcudia works better on me (since I have high instep)

I found the Rain width to be medium but the length to be the longest of all brands.

I got to the point where I could no longer resist the screaming deal on these from Epaulet. Saddle shell and British tan scotchgrain calf. Funky cool three season boots. Me like.

Those are great looking. Congratulations.

Thanks gents. They are pretty bold, but I have no shortage of conservative footwear. Gotta have some fun choices in the mix.

Speaking of group MTO's through Gentlemen's Footwear, I've exchanged PM's with Young about the following idea and am checking on interest. You can respond in-thread or PM me about it.

Gentlemen's Footwear currently stocks this two-eyed wingtip derby in black calf. This model is on the Simpson last (sorry wide-foot dudes). I really like the model but am holding off on more black shoes for the moment. I think it would look great in burnished burgundy calf with single-leather sole and black edge trim. If possible, I'd also like to change the medallion to the example below.

Here's what Carmina's burgundy calf looks like.

Here's an example of burnished burgundy that Epaulet used when organizing an austerity brogue MTO (the shoe is EG; Carmina's will undoubtedly look different).

Here's an example of Carmina's burnished caramel calf.

Here's an example of Carmina's cuero calf, burnished by the folks at The Armory.

Example of alternative medallion.

I wonder if they could make it more of a mahogany instead of a burgundy (make it a brownish red with burnishing instead of a purple) I think that would look sick.
