New PTB on Oscar Last from Carmina... purchased fm Paul & Friends. It says Cognac Shell and am sure it is but I love how they change in the light...at one time they had a caramel hue...then it got kind of like Ravello. Great fit.

^ Nice! I'm not sure if I've ever seen a PTB from Carmina. I nearly ordered one MTO from Betty earlier in the year (it would have been cordovan #8 on the forest last). Fortunately for my wallet, Paul & friends doesn't stock my size (6.5 uk).

MTO had a Dainite sole, green lining, a flat welt and was on the Oscar last. That Epaulet jumper has a double leather sole, purple lining, a storm welt and is on the Forest last. Same color, leather and style though.
Purple lining* as Carmina was apparently out of green.

Also, what's the difference between a storm welt and a flat welt? I feel silly for not knowing this, since I'm in on that MTO.

i believe thats the storm welt, its a piece of rubber (i think) that goes around the welt so no water can come through

the below have a flat welt

They're beautiful, man! Thanks for letting me know of their availability. Those are the Epic twin tube model and they fit the shoe nicely.

My pair of Carminas in cognac shell is much more like those in Fiddler's second photos (cap toe) than those in his first photo (ptb). Seems to be a fair bit of variation. At first I was a bit dissapointed that mine were not as light as I thought they would be. But they have become my favorite pair of shell shoes over time. Lots of life to the color.
