Thanks in advance!

I have a pair of brown calf wholecuts, and although I've only worn them a few times, they're great and I can already tell they'll wear beautifully. A common concern many people have with wholecuts is the creasing being distracting, but they've actually creased less than expected and I don't find the creasing to be any more distracting than creasing on any other type of shoe.

The general consensus seems to be to go to a full size down from your Barrie size for Detroit. With that being said, a full size down in Detroit is slightly more snug in the width than a D-width Barrie, so if you're a 6.5E on Barrie, UK5.5 on Detroit would likely be snug in the width on you.

I know this isn't allowed but think it might be ok considering the availability of this pair! I have a brand new pair of 8UK Rain Last Rubi Shell Oxfords and a brand new belt in size 90 (will fit 36 waist and under). The pair has just been tried on for size, no creasing at all. Just a little big for me

PM Me if you are interested. I am located in the US so not a bad way to avoid customs and MTO fee because of the rain last. I will take down the post if this is a problem!

Looking for some size advice from fellow Carmina fans...

Background: I wear an 8.5UK on EG 202 and 9 on the 888. I wear a 8UK on the CJ 337 and 341 and 8.5 on the 348.

I purchased the Carmina wingtips on the Rain last in an 8UK and due to my high instep, the shoe is snug across the top of my foot - not overly painful, but snugger than I prefer. Length is good as is toebox width, but the shoe is quite snug at the ball of my foot and instep. Heel is good-- no slippage whatsoever.

With that said, would sizing up to an 8.5 solve the snugness? Or would that result in possible heel slippage? Would I be better off trying to get the 8 in Carmina's EEE width? Worst case, I may have to avoid the Rain last.

What are SF thoughts? I've only got Carmina's in the Rain last - is there a last that you think fits my foot better?

I reached out to Gabriel at Skoak and he advised to stick with the 8 in EE width since the leather should stretch some. Probably best to trust Gabriel but figured it'd be worthwhile seeking SF advice.

How does the 9UK in the 888 fit?  It's surprising to me that you take a full size down on the rain last.  I take the same size, and rain is a little loose in the heel, but I could do it.

I found the 8.5/9 in the 888 too snug so sized up to the 9/9.5, which coincides with 8.5 on the CJ 348 (slight heel slippage).

I'm usually a US 9D so went with the 8UK in Rain since it's a more forgiving last. Sounds like the 8.5 in the Rain may be the better option.

I have a pair of Simpson derbies in 8.5 that fit reasonably well (slightly snug), but planning to sell because I don't wear derbies much.

Thanks for the info!  Any chance you can post a pic of them in their current condition?

Sure. They've been worn 2 or 3 times up to this point, but here they are:
