Just received my first package from Mallorca today:

It's the 910 on the Rain last in cognac. I don't own a lot of higher end shoes, but my feeling is, the run a little small. They ar e more snug than my Cheaney Imperials, and next time I'll size up a halft. Nonetheless, a beautiful shoe, which I am sure will serve me well.

I sent my European correspondent in search of the Carmina factory shop on Mallorca. I don't know how much effort she actually put in to finding it, but she did come away with some lovely images of the shop in Palma. Will post some more in a day or so.

Wear them for a half dozen wearings before deciding to size up next time. You might be surprised. Particularly with a whole cut.

BTW - great looking shoe - imipressive for the cost aren't they?

Thank you for the photos.

Interesting. I have recently reconnected with an old acquaintance who actually lives within a few kilometers of Inca. He didn't even know that Carmina shoes are made in Inca. Although he was familiar with the brand.

He is reportedly attempting to locate the elusive factory. Apparently it shares certain ephemeral characteristics with a legendary location sometimes referred to as Brigadoon.

We shall see. I doubt that he is highly motivated. Having retreated to Inca in order to live a 'rustic and uncomplicated' life he appears to be not particularly motivated about anything at all.

This sounds like a lovely existence. I aspire to someday do nothing.

I think these suede double monks are beatiful, it's the FILADELFIA-2AE last : Comfortable semi-
squared last. But what does the 2AE stand for?

I don't agree; they look a bit feminine with the close buckles. And if I'm not mistaken, you and I are in the same boat when it comes to shoe sizes, so these will probably not look right. I would rather reccomend another last, like the Inca or Simpson.
