Why wouldn't there be? They aren't an American made product?

Although I do find that it is a bit hit or miss. Sometimes the customs bill comes and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't, then I just count it as a lucky strike extra.

Ditto to this...I've only ever received one bill from DHL for duty fees out of my many deliveries from Carmina.

Sometimes companies will pay the customs fees for the customer. I don't know if Carmina does but it's an option.

This has been my experience with some retailers in the UK as well. I decided to take the option thinking that DHL/ups/FedEx have pretty good cotrol over packages so i might save myself any hassle.
My import duties came to about 100 bucks for 1200 worth of merchandise. From the above should I understand that it's better to just take the risk or is there some sir of discount for paying up front?

Can someone share what their import duties have been for a shipment of similar nominal value so we can figure it out for future orders? It would be pretty useful information.

Anyone know where I can find a navy shell belt to match my navy shell Carmina's?

It isn't shell, but forum affiliate Equus do a navy bridle belt which has been quite well received.

I've only ordered once directly from Carmina (two pairs of shoes - one calf oxfords, one cordovan boots) and did not get hit with customs. Like everyone mentioned, I hear it's pretty hit or miss (and I consider myself lucky). However, from my understanding, ordering shoe trees some how increases your odds of getting hit with customs. I think it has to do with what the sender has to declare on the customs form.

Surprised no one has posted these yet...they are great. I dont need boots but if I did....

I bought those exact boots from the website and love them. I was looking for an alternative to the Peal cordovan boot from Brooks and these fit my requirements perfectly. I think they're the perfect rain shoe.

look what showed up on our san diego office today! 2 stock models on top (5.5uk - 9uk) & 3 MTO models at the bottom. more to come soon!
These are my MTO and they came out absolutely amazing...Sadly, I should have sized down 1/2 on the UETAM last as others have done, as these are too big for me. So I am going to throw them up on B&S unless anyone here is interested. If so, PM me. They are grey suede with navy tassels in size 9.5 on the Uetam last.
