Hello Folks! I was wondering how has it been your experience at the Carmina boutique in Madrid. I'm going to Spain in December and I was wondering if certain sizes are hard to find, myself for example I am a 6.5 on Allen Edmonds. Would I have a problem over there, or should I email them before hand? Thanks!

I didn't visit that store, not sure about @patliean1 , but if you're a 6.5 US (so 5.5 or 6UK?) I'd contact them ahead of time to see what range of sizes they have in the store.

Correct. I visited the one on Calle de Serrano in Madrid which I believe is their biggest location, shop and selection wise. Best thing is to just contact them to check available sizes. They had a great selection but don't expect any of the more imaginative makeups like you'd expect to see here or from Skoaktiebolaget and Gentlemen's Footwear. The majority of their selection was more on the conservative side.

Thanks guys for such a quick answer. All I'm looking for is a good pair of loafers. I live in Orlando as it is and go frequently to Miami, Colombia and Venezuela. So pretty much all I need is a year round summer shoe, its always summer here. The one I'm interested in is the the string loafer on the Uetem last. I'm gonna get two or so pair of shoes from Meermin as beaters just like I do with my Allen Edmonds. Also, any site where I can get some shirts over there in Spain? Or any shirt makers with somewhat a good reputation and a great fit.

I think Pat means Claudio Coello - that's the big one from what I know. Not sure what they'll have but just email them. Though if you regularly go to those places you listed, maybe Ud se habla español - just llamalos ;)

Muchas gracias Senor Shawl Lapel! I speak perfect Spanish, my English though has an accent. I will give a call to Carmina tomorrow if I still haven't heard from them. Should I be worried about Meermin too? I hate my ******* size of shoes, there is never anything available for me.

Hi all,

I have a very wide foot and just purchased a pair of wholecut cordovans (8.5) on the Rain last from leatherfoot that are pretty snug. I noticed people mentioning that they come in EE width but I haven't found much information about where to find a pair. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

not positive, but think the wide fitting is available only through I made to order.

I just swooped these bad boys up from Skoak:

I bought a pair recently, too, and am eagerly awaiting their arrival!

Like RogerP, I'm surprised that they haven't sold out, given that they are a) cheaper than comparable plain-toe blucher models in shell cordovan from C&J for RL and Alden; and b) they are in a great colour that isn't commonly available at present given the apparent shortage of brown shell.

Ruby bal boot is probably the oddest marriage of color and style IMO. I always thought ruby shell was better suited as a 3 eyelet derby. But my cries went unanswered. With that said, ruby bal boot is one of my favorite styles (atleast too look at), but I don't know how id wear it or how often. Maybe if your favorite sport teams colors is red? Like SF niners? Wear it to the game and hope no one knocks you out while taking a leak

I know a lot of people swear by the Dainite sole, but on this shoe it didn't seem right to me - otherwise I would have been all over it.

I'm not saying you're wrong - you're as entitled to your preferences as I am, or anybody else. But I'm not really understanding why you feel Dainite would be inappropriate on a storm-welted derby. If it were a formal dress shoe like a captoe bal, I would get where you're coming from.
