Wow, those are really ruby red.Like that combo..

Crud, I think you are right. I didn't look at the actual product pages, I just went right to the Shipping and Returns page. That's what I get for being excited; Still, 35$ is far better than how much it costs to ship them back to Spain.

Wonder if the $35 is just to cover the FedEx prepaid label. If that's the case, I'll pay for the shipping myself. $35 is absurd from where I live to ship to NJ/NY.

Hopefully I won't need to find out, as I'm decently confident that 7 UK Detroit will work for my 8D Barrie foot.

Just a bit of maintenance tonight.

They probably came up with $35 because it covers the free shipping to you and the shipping label for the return.  If so, its not so bad.  All the free shipping that doesn't turn into actual sales due to returns would probably add up and impact their bottom line.

Has anyone ordered the Robert jumper boots in chestnut lizard? Picture from the Carmina website is below. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on these, but for $800 I was hoping to see a photo from real life before purchasing.

Anyone have a pair?

Stupid question: Does anyone know why I can't seem to join the MTO for the Full-Strap Penny in Vegano Marron on the carminashoemaker.us website?  I've tried in multiple browsers and can put the order in my bag, but cannot check out.  The MTO appears to still be active for another four days.

So my MTO return saga is finally over. Credit to Carmina for getting it sorted out. My shoe return was stuck in customs for a while, so that's totally not their fault for taking so long. They compensated me for the cost of the return shipping, too. I lost a dollar and change due to FX rates, but that's no big deal.

I opted to take my money back instead of getting my shoes remade. I just am not in the mood to wait a couple more weeks at minimum to get a pair of shoes that I should've had 3 months ago. In the meantime, I've also found other things I'd rather spend my money on. I didn't realize until very recently how poorly RTW shoes fit me until I had a bespoke fitting. Diving ever deeper down the rabbit hole...

It's off-topic I know, but where did you go for bespoke?

Nicholas Templeman visited NYC at the beginning of April and I commissioned a pair from him then.

I'm eyeing on this Robert last balmoral boots, just unsure about the size. If I wear Rain 7,5 and Simpson 8, do I take 7,5UK for Robert?

FWIW, I wear the same size in Robert as I do rain.

Same here.

Nice boots there.
I have a feeling though, that Carmina's "kudu" might not be actual antelope hides (like the Peabody ones G&G, Meccariello uses). The grain pattern is completely different.
Horween does a few chromexcel variants, each with a slightly different tannage. And these utilise regular calf. One of these is called (somewhat misleadingly) kudu. Which is what I suspect we're looking at here. It does have that slightly matt, oily appearance of pull up leather.
