Those are asbolutely gorgeous. I have been very tempted by them myself. I sincerely hope you ordered my size so that I can be put out of my misery.

I ordered a size UK 9, which I'm hoping is closer to a US 10 rather than US 9.5. I made the mistake of discovering this SF thread and The Shoe Snob blog so of course my interest was peaked. I also checked out Kent Wang's boots as well as SF's group order for Meermin's Bal Boot in cordovan but once I saw Carmina's boots I realized no longer wanted Kent Wang's or Meermin's despite being about $200-$250 cheaper.

^^^ My wallet thanks you.

Yes, I'd say that a UK 9 on the Robert last is closer to a US 10D than a US9.5, so you should be good. I have the same boot in the same size in brown suede. Enjoy the heck out of them.

Those are sweet. I love Carmina and my next pair are definitely going to be a dress bal very similar to these if not the same. The only reason I didn't get these is that I've just recently discovered Carmina after stumbling into Epaulet a few months ago and now have 5 pair (including my first pair of Cordovan - the Sinclair) so I need to take a break.

I'm also a 10 US and the 9UK is the way to go.

Haha. I know. Wasn't I the one who had Steve contact you? LOL. I had to decline as well.

Could you offer a reference for the grey carmina calf next to the black calf? Because the grey looks basically black on my screen.

Does anyone have a pair of Carminas made with "rusti calf?" I found a description on The Armoury's site, which said that it's softer than standard calf but also more wrinkly, making it more "rusti"c. I'm curious just how wrinkly it becomes.

I just ordered these bad boys from Skoat! This will be my first pair of Balmoral Boots, my first pair of Cordovan, and my first pair of Carmina. I figured I'd conquer all three in one giant swoop! Oh and R.I.P. to my other dress shoes LoL, my wallet, and my relationship with my wife.

Great choice.

I'd be tempted as well.

However from what I've read and I maybe mistaken but I believe my high instep would be an issue with these boots.
