Nice double monks, but beside the fitting the other thing I did not like on the Carmina double monks are that the buckle is attached to a bit of elastic where as I Westminster and William it is attached with a piece of leather and stitched on to the leather on the shoe.

The elastic is the best way to go. AE made this same mistake (leather) on the Mora. I have like 3 pairs and elastic is the way to go as it facilitates putting them on easily.

+1. Elastic is definitely preferable to leather in this case.

The elastic is not actually visible, and it makes it easier to do up the strap and to get a precise fit. Furthermore, I'd hazard a guess that it's easier to replace a piece of elastic than it is to replace the actual strap of the monkstrap if it breaks due to stress (and I've seen a photo where precisely that happened).

Exact summation. Plus putting the heel in (if the dub monk is a snug fit) is facilitated by elastic.

Uni you got some incredible styles. The navy double monks is amazing. I would highly consider but I just ordered some by Bontoni in Navy. I never thought I would want or enjoy a pair of tassel loafers but when I saw these it has almost changed my mind
