It's interesting to see that they have grown like this without any/most of the growing pains that Meermin has had by and large (poor communication, quality control, extended delays etc). I wonder if that can be attributed to them not doing so much direct business and letting their stockists handle most of the customer enquiries, MTO's etc?
Meermins issues seem to stem from too much back and forth with customers buying one pair of shoes, buggering around with group MTO's and the like direct with the customer, which would be better left to dealers handling while they focus on just making the shoes, IMO. With my dealings with Pepe a dealer network is not on the cards though so its probably a mute point for now.

Did these up for another threak, but they are Carminas, so might as well post here too.

I've been thinking about ordering through http://gentlemensfootwear.tumblr.com as the minimum of 6 people needed for skoaktiebolaget seems to have fallen through.

Does anyone happen to have any pictures of the Natur Marron colour after a bit of wear? Does it lighten significantly?

This was after about 10-12 wears. There is no change in color around the creases or anywhere. Really great leather and color.

EMartNJ, is your shoe the same as shown in the second picture of The Upright Man?
I think it would make for a great shoe that can be worn most days of the week both in business and casual and it too looks lovely in your picture.

I have this exact pair and it's fantastic. I noticed some hairline wrinkles in the leather when I got it but no big deal. Initially polished them in medium brown saphir but could still see the wrinkles. So I decided to polish them with Saphir Havana which looks like a dark chocolate brown...now they look great and the hairline wrinkles are not noticeable.

It's uncanny how you and I think alike! I have a bottle of Trappistes Rochefort 10 and Sixth Glass chilling for my afternoon shoe shine.

While cruising the Carmina website, I noticed several more US Retailers than before, which is great for us. I also noticed that Sky Valet in Georgetown/Washington DC is a retailer but could not find Carmina on Sky Valet's website. Has anyone seen Carmina at Sky Valet?
