Carmina Shoe P0rn. - Page 430

Petepan, very2 nice. How is the ruby shell? Is the red colour really noticeable out in the wild?

Also, would appreciate some assistance in sizing from the forum with regards to the Uetam last string loafers which I am planning to purchase from the Carmina online store. I wear a UK8 for the EG888 (snug with a bit of heel slippage) and also Vass 41.5 on the F last and U last (this one is in a G width).

Would a UK8 fit me nicely or should I go with a UK7.5 since it is a pair of loafers.

My ruby shells have taken a much duller more oxblood of a color. I am super happy how they are turning. I didnt want them to be super bright

Terror, those ruby shells are only 1 year old. They are quite bright in sunlight, but are muted indoors. You can even pull it off with dark navy if you match up a correct tie and pocket square.  I suspect the color will bleach a bit brighter the more the shoes are exposed to sunlight (quite likely where you are!), and may darken into oxblood shade like Justin's if mainly used indoors.  Pick your poison, mate!

Next up, I am aiming for a navy shell, preferably in double monk boot configuration.  Or perhaps Carmina/Horween will surprise us with a new color.  I am just wondering how the patina on the navy shells will turn out in time.

As to sizing, the shell has a bit more "give" than calf, especially once it is warmed up. Unfortunately, no experience with Uetam.

Bump... Any comments if people are still getting hit with customs from Carmina to the US?

Thank you sir! I am flattered. Your selection of boots is far superior and your shop has some of the best combos for boots I have ever seen.

The CXL boots I just purchased from ShoeMart did not work out for me.  I am going to return them, but thought I would offer them to SF first.  See classified in my signature for more details.

With the ruby shell, the lighting makes all the difference.

These are both from this morning.

This is after about 10 wears.

They are developing a slightly darker patina, but it is easier to see in the indoor lighting.

easy - see below for a post I responded to about 4 weeks ago (not sure if it is bad form to quote myself...:embar:).  The shipment I am referring to occurred in September.  The moral of the story is that customs duties and fees direct from Carmina to the U.S. are not too onerous.  Hope this helps.

TIA!

Yes.

I originally wanted the Ruby Bradbury captoe boot from Epaulet, but they were out of my size early.

I ordered them directly from Carmina in Spain.

FWIW, I think the duties were included with the shipping (~40 USD), but I cant be sure.

These look fantastic. I wish Shoe Mart had it in my size, but I don't think they even stocked them in 7.5 (UK 6.5). The boots look quite similar to the shell cordovan boots in Soller on the Carmina e-Store. I own those and they are amazing.

Package arrived today.  These shoes feel as soft on the inside as they look on the outside.  Amazing!
