Trackable postal service is def. the way to go. If you're lucky, it'll slip by with zero duties/taxes. Even if you do get hit with duties/taxes, you'll still avoid brokerage fees charged by other carriers, i.e. DHL, UPS, FedEx, Puro, etc.
And I've noticed that for stuff sent by foreign postal services and passed on to Canada Post, I'm much more likely to get hit with duties/taxes when the package clears customs in Quebec, vs Ontario or BC.
