Carmina Shoe P0rn. - Page 325

Advice/Thoughts, please.

I got a pair of Carmina Taylor split toe derbies from Epaulet, and I really like them.  However, I have not worn them because I then saw a single monk split toe pair at Leatherfoot.  Both are on Simpson, which is my favorite Carmina last.  Trying to decide -- keep the Taylors or order the single strap.  And no, I'm not getting both.  I already have a pair of darker brown split toe derbies (AS Charlton), and I have some double monks.

Which do people like better?  Thanks.

I like the monks better (actually just acquired those exact models and will wear them tomorrow) but it is simply a personal preference of mine.

Personally, I think that the blucher version is better. The monk strap is just one too many quirks for my tastes.

Do you have any real life pictures of the Taylor's? Would like to see how the color and shape is while being worn/not in professional pictures

Since you already have the AS Charlton, I'd say go for the single monks for more variety. Between the two styles, I like the derbies a bit more, but the single monk looks great as well. In fact, I was wondering if I should get a pair of split toe single monks a few days ago. (well, I know I shouldn't, but I'd certainly like to...)

Anyone have comparisons pic between the vegano vs natural calf color?

If you're talking about the brown the natur is darker and shinier whereas the vegano is flat and a little lighter. Both very nice in their own right but the vegano is the more casual of the two.

No, he's talking about that natur cuero (caramel/light cognac) vs the vegano cuero (burnished caramel/cognac).

Well, the difference in sheen is going to be the same as natur and vegano are tanning methods.

Basically I am interested in the:

851 (Natural Calf) on the Queen

80190 (Vegano Chestnut) on the Simpson
-

Betty said the Natural Calf is lighter although the pictures on the website shows the opposite (the Vegano Chestnut being lighter).

I talked to skoak (the shoe company, idk how to spell the rest) and they confirmed that vegano is darker, and I quote 'is better by far' in his opinion.

Thanks for verifying! I appreciate it!

I think the pictorial differences can amount to camera flash/lighting/variance by batch of leather.

Between the two, I like the derby without a doubt.
