Carmina Shoe P0rn. - Page 298

For what it's worth, I have wide feet. Measuring 4.25 inch at the ball across. Rain works surprisingly well sizing a half size down. I'd be a 8e borderline 8ee US with AE shoes. I went with 7.5 UK Rain to ensure enough width and toe room. The shoe is longer than I would like but it's a chiseled last and is a stronger taper to the toe.

I could've probably done 7UK but I opted to have it fit slightly loose than be too tight with width and cramping the toes.

Thank you, this helps. I'm looking at 4.5" across the ball of my foot. I'm hoping a 10.5 or 11 UK, in Rain or Forest last, will fit that requirement.

Does Carmina offer narrow widths on anything they sell? It seems like the only narrow-ish last is Simpson. I wear a C or even a B width in some shoes, depending on the last. Am I just SOL with Carmina?

Alcudia is another narrow last.

Some have mentioned the Robert last is semi-narrow

Cool thanks guys, I will check those out. I've had success fitting into some shoes from other makers by going down 1/2 size, so I can try that as well.

This is worth repeating as it seems that sizing has been coming up.

Grabbed from the Carmina Sizing thread.

"I thought I'll add this too. This is from Ethan at The Armoury:

Carmina lasts

Inca - Widest last and waist for wide feet (EE width)
Rain - Like the Inca but with a chisel toe (EE width)
Soller - A boot last like Robert, fits like a double E.
Forest - Standard width with round toe (E width)
Uetam - Similar to Forest but a shade narrower (E width)
Robert - Like the Simpson but more room in the toe box (E width)
Queen - an E width, similar to Alcudia but shorter
Alcudia - Like the Simpson but with Almond toe (E width)
Simpson - Narrow with chiseled toe, extended toe box (E width)"

Thank you. This is helpful.

Also Detroit and Armoury but those may have been introduced after the list was produced.

OK so I'm ordering woodlore epic shoe trees for the black captoes I just got on the simpson last, size 8UK. I'm ordering them in small, would that be right? I'm ordering a few extra pairs for other shoes, and maybe a future pair of carminas. I figure if these trees work for simpson, they'll work for Rain too but if anyone wants to weigh in, please do.

Don't get small. I use medium for 7.5UK (8.5/9 US).

Best I can come up with, I must have re-read that post or that thread more than a few times before taking the plunge.  That specific post must've been older than a year or so.  I rolled the dice and lucked out with Rain. I am still unsure about inca though.

Philadelphia last exists as well.  Maybe our good forum affiliates may gracefully chime in on the differences. thumbs-up.gif

Forest on the left (standard width), Oscar on the right. Oscar seems more generous around the toebox and the ball of the foot.
