In your opinion how does the Carmina Cordovan Boots compare to those made by Alden and Crockett and Jones?

Is this the exact same shoe as the group MTO?

New PTB on Oscar Last from Carmina... purchased fm Paul & Friends. It says Cognac Shell and am sure it is but I love how they change in the light...at one time they had a caramel hue...then it got kind of like Ravello. Great fit.

^ Nice! I'm not sure if I've ever seen a PTB from Carmina. I nearly ordered one MTO from Betty earlier in the year (it would have been cordovan #8 on the forest last). Fortunately for my wallet, Paul & friends doesn't stock my size (6.5 uk).

Does anyone know if there is a cognac shell bal non-boot out there? Basically, something like this, but in that awesome cognac. http://www.carmina.telemaco.es/articulo.asp?idarticulo=3476662

Alternatively, any interest in a MTO?

MTO had a Dainite sole, green lining, a flat welt and was on the Oscar last. That Epaulet jumper has a double leather sole, purple lining, a storm welt and is on the Forest last. Same color, leather and style though.

Purple lining* as Carmina was apparently out of green.

Also, what's the difference between a storm welt and a flat welt? I feel silly for not knowing this, since I'm in on that MTO.

i believe thats the storm welt, its a piece of rubber (i think) that goes around the welt so no water can come through

the below have a flat welt

Aah, I see you got them....very cool. Gotta ask you... the shoe tree on them....is it the "Epic twin tube" model....they seem to fit the shoe well and I need a few. Thanks

They're beautiful, man! Thanks for letting me know of their availability. Those are the Epic twin tube model and they fit the shoe nicely.

I got a pair that looks like this....but this cognac is slightly different from the one on my PTB above. They're one of my favourites.
