Wearing the same pair right now. Got them from Paul&Friends. Quickly becoming one of my favorite pair of boots, but the stiff dainite soles and stiff ankle collar did not help with the break in time.

I have wide feet, and I size 9E for the barrie. I went with 9UK and it fits great.

Perfect - I'm a 10E barrie, and I went 10 UK. I'll post pics when mine come in.

I don't think I've ever heard that on Styleforum.

Both of my Carminas in shell respond poorly to water drops. It buffs right off with a little conditioner - but they look pretty bad until then.

It has to be in the way they are finished - as Alden and Carmina use the same supplier. Aldens have a super shiny finish on them like plastic - that seems to resist this water spotting. Carminas do not.

This is not to say that I do not love my Carmina shell shoes - as a matter of fact I much prefer them to my Aldens (style, last, 270 degree welt etc.).

 

Where did you hear this? Shell is low maintenance, not maintenance free. All the shoes need is a good brushing after being worn.

All I want to do it give Carmina/Betty my money in exchange for a couple pairs of shoes, however at 12UK, this seems to be a problem.

Get in on a MTO. Epaulet has them running fairly often, so check out the Epaulet x Carmina thread.

 

Also, email her and ask what the stores have in stock in a 12UK; the web shop listing is far from complete, from what I hear.

I've emailed her styles and sizes that I would like from their website (not boutique) and have been shot down both times. I'd prefer to buy from Carmina (apparently may not be possible) versus Epaulet, because I'd be looking at ~$400 instead of ~$550.
