Tell me more. I wear about an 11B/C in US sizing and I don't want to screw up a Carmina order. Would the Alcudia or Simpson work for narrower feet? I know they're narrower than the others, but are they truly narrow?

Well my Carminas on the Simpson last are the narrowest shoes I own. OK for narrow feet but otherwise you would need to go up half a size or chose a different last. I usually wear orthotic insoles - not sure I will be able to use them with these shoes.

Would you say the length is half size conversion from US to UK?

More like a whole size, according to The Armoury and Epaulet.

I wear a 8E in the 337 and the 8 in the Alcudia is quite a bit smaller, I need an 8.5. I'm a perfect 9.5a/c in the Alden Hampton.

Can you not order Carmina shoes by phone?

Try. Give a store a call and see what they say, i think they know better how things work than anybody here

They had fail priced their 50% sign, it was not discounted after all.. Which means they still want £500 for it. I emailed Carmina, as you can buy shoes that's not in their online store, if you contact them over email, but they only had this jodhpur boot in black in all their stores. I am going to ask if they have this similiar model in brown of chestnut:

After trying on both Simpson and Rain lasts, I've realised that the Simpson last is noticeably narrower than the Rain (on the same size). It\s a tad uncomfortable. So much so that I've flirted with the idea of selling them.

Betty from Carmina told me the following regarding the widths of a few of their lasts:

Oscar is wide. Forest is the most similar to Oscar. Rain has a "comfortable fitting" (which I take to mean about average, neither wide nor narrow). Simpson and Alcudia are narrower.

Has anyone who requires B width for loafers such as Allen Edmonds try any Carmina loafers?

Just thought I'd share some side-by-side pics of three different lasts -- Forest, Robert, and Alcudia.

The dark brown Robert and dark brown Alcudia were purchased from The Armoury; the black Forest was purchased from Carmina's website.

I sized down a full size from my typical US size for all three. Of the three, the Robert is the roomiest -- it works for a variety of insteps, while you pretty much need to have a low instep for the Forest and Alcudia to work (or else the lacing area will probably be too tight). They're all quite snug, but super comfortable -- as if they're hugging my feet (sometimes they need a little bit of warm-up time before the pinky toe agrees).
