Hm... The total before shipping, excluding VAT, was 668€. The other pair of RTW taller shell boots (not on the e-store) I purchased last winter was 483€. So maybe the MTO markup is actually... 38%? Unless the cost of that boot has increased, which it very well may have, since the shell chukka on their e-store is only ~456€ excluding VAT, and uses significantly less material.

 

Okay, this is what I think: base model would be ~320€ excluding VAT. +194€ for shell (or 60% extra, but I don't know if it's actually a % upcharge), so 514€. Then +30% MTO upcharge on top of that.

I'm selling a pair of Carmina Suede Chelsea boots in 6.5 UK if anyone is interested.

True to size, though the forest last seems to have a narrower instep……. ironically. Some people like variety, I like variety too…. in a different way.

thats very ambiguous statement, carmina is in UK sizing thus a UK10 is a US 11

I wear a UK 11 and these are both a UK 11. In comparison of the two boots, one on the Simpson last the other on the Forest, the Forest last Balmoral boot has a narrower instep though it is described as "comfortable fitting" and visually looks rounder. I thought it was ironic considering the Simpson visually looks narrower and sleeker than the forest. Hopefully this clarifies a bit.

btw, here is a comparison of Carmina "dainite" and regular Dainite rubber soles. Carmina has a much thinner profile, similar to single leather

thanks. the carmina bal boot is crazy nice. the tall shaft gives it a very classic look

yea i plan to get the burgundy one but the steinback at epaulet side tracked me, now im having a hard decision

picked up a navy belt to match the navy shell carmina. not perfect but itll suffice.
