i like them better than crew neck t shirts, however some googling shows vnecks tshirts seem to be in the underwear-only territory? or am I mistaken? I can't remember the last time i saw someone wear a v neck t shirt in public. i mean the white color v necks.

HUH, you need new eyes or to get out of the cave you live in. Tees come in many collars, mainly crew and v-necks but also u-neck. People wear them like someone wearing a suit wears a dress shirt.

Solid color v-necks pair great with a pair of jeans or chinos. However, do follow this rule: do NOT wear deep v-necks. Ever. Or you will be made fun of.

One of my favourite simple casual looks is just denim, v-neck and a leather jacket. Definitely more than just underwear. Ditto on avoiding deep Vs. Just don't do it.

Deep V with tomato sauce stains down the front.

It's the only way I can get good service from shopkeepers in Brooklyn. Otherwise they can't tell I'm Italian.
