RN 91013=Jack Victor. Was wondering who made it for them, or if they tailor their own suits? Thanks!!

I just saw the posts concerning some Peal & Co. shoes posted a couple pages back. I guess this is directed mostly to Rebel222, as you seem to be the most knowledgeable on Peals. Any idea of the maker? I was under the impression that Peal was a maker rather than just a retailer, but my knowledge of the company is limited. They have the same markings as the previously posted Peals and the only numbering is the six digit number seen in the pics. The same number is printed on the opposite side of each shoe. The soles appear to be original as you can see PEAL cut into the waist, but I can't guess whether the heels are original or not. The pics are enlargeable thumbnails.

I believe those are EG. That is the same marking inside the shoes and the PEAL stamp on the waist that come on EG for Peal/BB. The heels are not original. Also, I can't tell from those pic, but are the sole closed channel but the stitching is worn through?

There's usually another set of numbers, similar to the numbers you posted on the other side of the shoe. It is the sizing. The ink they used wears off easily, so sometimes the right angle will show the impression of the stamp.

Wanted to get a confirmation these are Crockett & Jones "benchgrade"? They are size def a UK size as too big for me even that the size is correct. Heel pattern looks correct also, but on a Cole Haan shoe puzzled.gif

angry.gif BOO. Thanks for the confirmation!! Just for future reference how can you tell the difference between Cheaney's and C&J's from the heel?

Just took these photos to add here so figured I'd post them anyway. Any help on how to tell the differences would be great though. Thanks!

1. Only Cheaney's and C&J have the 3-nail pattern near the heel pads. However, C&J always has an additional nail at the center front of the heel.
2. Cheaney's is known for using quite a lot of wheelings in their heels, C&J however, use very little if at all.
3. Cole Haan used Cheaney's for quite a while, they also used EG for a brief period, but never C&J. So if a pair of shoes is Cole Haan made in England, they're either EG (about <5% of the time) or Cheaney's.
