I posted this in the thrift thread as well, but it wasn't clear who the makers are. I believe the Burberry London is a Drakes, the Burberry might possibly be an older Drakes, and the RLPL might be Turnbull & Asser, however it does have the Made by Hand tag.

Burberry London jacket. It is a really cool color/pattern, and seems reasonably well made. Perfect condition. The pockets are still basted shut. Big boy size - 50L. Other than the union label, however, there is nothing to indicate the maker. Would that suggest this is coming from Hickey Freeman? Does anybody else make for them in the US? If it were fake, they wouldn't bother with a union label, right?

Probably just Burberry made by Hartmarx, who actually owns Hickey Freeman since 1964. There is, however, a marked difference in quality depending on which house made them. If you look deeper into the inside pocket which is opposite the Burberry tag, what do you find?

A woolmark tag and a simple size tag like these?

That's exactly what I have. Does that confirm HartMarx? Did they produce these for Burberry at the same time as Hickey, or does the maker tell me anything about date?

Quote: Yes, that is Hartmarx. Not sure on the date though. Their newer HSM stuff still has those tags. I do know there was a legal battle over the license for Burberry a few years back, 2009 I think. Not sure if they ceased making the line then or not. I'm thinking Hartmarx won the case, since HF is still making them.
