HOF: Labels, heels and nail patterns - Secrets to ID the maker - Page 106

Bought this Fred Hayman jacket with the expectation that it was Belvest based on earlier posts, but, looking back at those posts, the tag doesn't match. Date on the tag is 1973, which may make it hard to ID. The jacket really doesn't seem that old though. Anyways, maybe this looks familiar to someone:

I asked this before and didn't have time to post more pics until now. I'd appreciate any feedback.

Peal & Co./ Brooks Brothers suede chukkas. Trying to figure out who the maker is. From the "generic" markings I've eliminated Church's. Alfred Sargent? Loake? Btw, it says England in the footbed.

Those are basically a Peal branded version of the Loake Sahara which you can get for £95.00. They are fine chukkas but not worth the huge markup that Brooks Bros was charging for them.

Caruso

You will see 1973 on every jacket made in Italy. Has nothing to do with the date it was made.

I appreciate your feedback and honesty but I respectfully disagree. Are they worth the $5+ that I spent? That's all relative, IMO.

AAAC's reviews have given Peal Co / BB items a high grade too.

Cheers

I thought these ere Alden for Brooks (script looks right, raised footbed, etc.), but the size writing isn't the usual "heel/toe" width typical of Alden.  Anyone have thoughts?

Yes. Alden for BB.

They don't typically show the combo last sizing on the shoes they make for BB. Not sure if it's still a combo last or not. I assume not.

You're correct, it's not a combo sole.  Thanks Wes!

Ok..so i'll take that link to the google docs info..but in the mean time?

Zegna Jacket...maker?

Maker is Zegna. Zegna makes all their own jackets, as well as Gucci, Tom Ford, and a few others. That tag you have there is slightly older.
