The only readable markings on the inside are the size (91/2 D) and a number M5169.

There is a very faint Polo label on the sole, but no other writing that I can read, the soles are pretty worn.

I wouldn't have thought much of these when I saw them if not for the nail pattern on the bottom, I was hoping somebody might have some ideas, Thanks!

I asked a similar question recently about what seem to be similar vintage PRLs. Here are my pictures. I was told the heels are not original, which I suppose is possible, but note the "polo" in the arch, how the life in the heel matches the life in the sole. Anyone know who made these?

Alan McAfee is now owned and made by Church's, but these look to be from before the acquisition.

Yes, I didn't think they looked like Church's.

But they reference numbers suggest that they are not bespoke. Hopefully someone will know who made them. smile.gif

Well as far as I know, if it was before Church's, they would have been made by McAfee.

Before Church's, their RTW stuff was made by just about everyone in Northampton, including C&J, EG, Cheaney and Church's.

These are really lovely. I'm not sure Cheaney would have been up to making this kind of thing in pre-Church's Mcafee era. Who knows, though. Here are a couple of photos:

They were independent, then owned by Church's, and now independent again but owned by the Church family, who are no longer part of Church's.

Make sense?

So they are owned by the real Church's and not the Prada Church's
