Removing ink stains from a shirt?

I was wearing a suit had to keep a pen, so without thinking i stuck it in the shirt pocket. Well it turns out mont blanc pens are pieces of shit that leak.



i tried rubing alchol and got SOME of it off but its still pretty black.

IDK if its worth dry cleaning, its just a Gitman Brothers shirt

hair spray will do some help (DAB do not RUB), if it's light grey/white try goo gone.

As a long time FP user, I wouldn't recommend either of those for FP ink. I believe those are solutions for ball point ink. Roller ball ink will react more like FP ink than ball point. For FP ink stains, Amodex is a professional ink removing liquid sold by many pen shops. Ammonium will dissolve many inks but you should daub a diluted solution on with a q-tip, testing other parts of your shirt for color fastness. Rinse thoroughly afterward. Some really old stains can be dimished by soaking in Oxy. Bleach can work on whites but is tough on your fabric. Current MB pens are definitely overpriced, overrated, especially compared to vintage or to some modern brands like Pelikan. But all modern pens have QC issues. And all fountain pens can leak if circumstances are right. It's part of why the world went so quickly to ball-points. ruined shirts and suits were a part of life. You write with a fountain pen for the writing experience and the expressiveness it offers. The possible stains and leaks are a CODB.
