Critique the fit of my suit

Hi all,

I was wondering if I can get some opinions on my suit. I just got it back from the tailor. Ignore the no tie, the crooked shirt, and no socks, i put everything on quickly. I'm just looking for a critique of the suit/pants fit. I'm thinking about slimming the pants a little more from the knee down, what do you guys think? I told the tailor I wanted the leg opening to be 7'', but it ended up being 7.25'', so I could get her to fix it if I really wanted to.

Let me know what you guys think.

The jacket looks a bit on a short side and a bit snug. Also, your trousers look a bit too snug all around so don't get them slimmed down. The jacket also looks like it has a gap in the collar. Also, it looks like the pocket flap on the right side is larger than the one on the left, but it could just be the angle.

+ 1

Shorter jackets seem to be a little bit in style. For my taste he is an inch short, but what the heck, it is not such a biggie.

I actually got the jacket shortened by a little bit, about 1 cm because I thought it was a tiny bit too long. I always thought jackets are always long on me especially because I'm short (5 8''). Was that a bad choice? The pocket flaps are the same size, I just measured it

The suit fits ok but some might say it's a bit short. However you should move the shirt-button at the sleeve so they don't fall down so much on your hands.

+1 on fit and shirt-button

I would not say that it is too short since your butt is fully covered. It is at the short end of the OK-range.

I think it's fine except for the collar gap that PB already pointed out. It may be fixed, though. And don't slim the pants any more.

Might be a dumb question, but what is collar gap?

^ It is either the distance between your lapel and your shirt around the collar area or the unfortunate explanation for why a hanging has gone horribly, horribly awry.

Jacket far too short and possibly too tight - especially if you use the inner pockets: A wallet would bulge dreadfully.

Trousers would be better with 17" bottoms.

Is it me, or are his trousers very low? It may just be an optical illusion, because as you said, you are a short chap.

I think it looks nice. Definitely on the modern/trendy end of the "correct fit" spectrum but still correct to my amateur eye. It probably wouldn't fly in a conservative business environment but nice for the club or date nights.

It's a little tight in the chest (notice the >0< at the button), and it looks like it was never meant to be that short (low, but large pocket flaps). Lower legs look plenty slim, but it loops drapey under your thigh. Maybe it's because it's a walking pose?
