I ended up getting a room at the wellington hotel for 5 days in July using priceline's name your own prices - nice 3* midtown hotel on 57 and 7th for $150 a night which was a real bargain - only complaint about the hotel was that the room design is a bit dated.
On my way back I had a 2 night stopover and ended up paying $210 a night for a 2* Best Western by the convention center which sucked. What the heck happened? Was there something happening that doubled the prices?
