The Maddox looks almost exactly like one of the new EG models that Susie and Alex brought to the trunk shows one year ago. Alex was not too keen on it for exactly the reason mentioned above IIRC. I think there was at least one order for it at the Sky trunk show, but EG ultimately decided not to produce it - which of course has only fanned the flames of desire emanating from certain quarters. . . .

No love for the Westbourne? I think it's a nice looking shoe.

I hear you Grimslade. The benchgrade standard doesn't bother me, especially at that price. I'm happy with the leather on my benchgrades (some more than others) but I think the 348 offers an excellent shape, neither too point or two round and it simply fits me well. I wish they were offering some shoes with open lacing, or a monk.

Brown captoes are one of those shoes that are so hard to make stand out because everyone makes one and they all look pretty similar. I would prefer an EG 888 for a brown captoe, I think.

The Highbury, Talbott and Croydon are all bluchers on the 348, but my catalogue is at home, so I don't know if those are still Paris-only.

I'm conflicted on the swans neck, if that's what you'd call it, on the Westbourne. But YMMV, of course.

Ah yes. I think they may be Paris-only, but I'm not certain. Anyway, here's the Drummond in mink suede:

And the Westbourne:

I too welcome more shoes in the F fitting.

The suede makes this shoe quite special. It really works with the design somehow, in a way the regular calf photographed in the original catalogue does not. Well, for me anyway.

All three are in the regular catalogue.

The C&J Reading looks like a monkstrap version of the Drummond. I picked one up on ebay recently. I *really* like that suede Drummond. Edit: The Reading is a C&J model, not Ralph Lauren.

My pair on the 348 is similar to the Talbot (below), but in a different leather. I got it at Gordon Scott about two years ago. The suede drummond or a black Westbourne will probably be my order. Really like the suede drummond. It looks like an assassin's slipper.

Can anyone who has experience with both talk about the fit differences between the 337 and the 348 lasts? I have a wide forefoot (usually USA E or EE) but I fit decently in the 337. Is the 348 similarly roomy in the arch/forefoot?
