I'd add Groundhog Day to the list.

I don't know if the film itself is an all-time great...but it has become part of our common vernacular. Every time I'm talking to someone and they want to describe a situation that keeps happening over and over, they almost always say, "It's just like Groundhog Day..."

Not to mention that is a genuine feel-good flick that never descends into sappiness.

There was a student film I made in college for a Philosophy class, about a soldier in WWII contemplating eating a banana. I did it in black and white and used some instrumental french music for the background. I think it's my greatest movie thus far.

LOL...

In high school, I once "starred" in a film that a couple of buddies were making for Art Class. I never saw the actual film but apparently it was a big hit. I had people I didn't know coming up to me for the next month telling me how cool "my" film was and what a great job I did.

It was a strange experience...the first and only time I could relate to what it might be like to be a celebrity.

The Goonies .. not because it is "the best movie", but it is one movie I can watch at any time, anywhere, and have a good time.

When I was sick as a kid, I'd watch Price is Right, Flintstones/Jetsons, then Goonies. So easily seen that movie 100+ times.

Speaking of these kinds of movies, how about Princess Bride? Can't turn that off when it's on.

I can't believe no one has said Gladiator yet. Probably the most quotable movie of all time.

I don't know how many times I've seen A Few Good Men but anytime its on I watch it. Not the greatest film but Jack's performance always gets me

I believe that award belongs to Anchorman.

The Wild Bunch--Surely the ultimate "guy" movie.

For me, maybe Swept Away (original Lina Wertmuller version, of course), Seven Beauties, La Belle Noiseuse (sp?), Camille Claudel, Pan's Labyrinth.

Or Bull Durham.

The Big Lebowski blows them both out of the water in terms of quotability. I would also contend that it is a superior film in most respects. (I consider Gladiator nonetheless to be a very good movie; Anchorman is ****.)

The Matrix is my single favourite film when I have to choose one, but I'd rather not.

Children of Men, The Road, Double Indemnity, C.R.A.Z.Y., Brick, Pan's Labyrinth, A Clockwork Orange, My Fair Lady, The Silence of the Lambs, and Jurassic Park (in no particular order) are the next 10 that occur to me. Those are all movies I could watch three times in a day without getting bored.
