There are lots of smaller shops, too, like Arlequin in Hayes Valley or Plump Jack in Noe Valley.

On the Penninsula, in addition to Beltramo's, try Draeger's.

You try out online wine stores for good quality wine on some reasonable price that can place your order at your doorstep. Try ordering boxed wines from http://www.prestigeselections.com/.  Currently they have some special offers of “Introductory Three Set Box” where you can choose your favorite red and white boxed wine and you will free shipping and free tasting notes and recipes.

I was really looking for that wine in Norway wherein you can create a lot of it in just 1 pouch powder and stock for a week. It's really delicious and you can't resist it.
