How long would it take for someone to find your body? - Page 3

Here's how I figure it:

1. I live alone, but my teenage boys stay with me half of the time (every Wed & Thurs and every other weekend).
2. Work would notice at some point, but it might take a few days because my boss works in a different city and I don't necessarily talk to him every day. Others in my office might assume I was traveling or on vacation.
3. While they have my address at work, no one there has ever been to my house.
4. After a few days it would start to smell, by 8 or 9 days it would be positively wretched.

Given all that and from what I know about teenagers, I'd say no more than 3 or 4 weeks.

Heard an odd story this weekend about this very topic. A member of my wife's family died about 30 years ago. He had a heart attack while driving, he pulled over and died. It took them 2 weeks to find his car. So, the body was sitting in a car outside in the south during the summer.

when i was in high school, a buddy of mine bought a corvette at auction for some ridiculously low price. we quickly found out why. nothing you can do to get the smell out. still, he could say he had a 'vette, even if no one had a strong enough stomach to get in for more than 30 seconds.

I this the reason you're up at every hour of the night? Edit: I'm sure I'd be found within the week, most days the same day. I'm guessing the main advantage of having a live in girlfriend.

A friend's old bachelor neighbor was found after maybe a couple weeks. I think he said they had to cut the floor boards out in the spot where he lay.

BTW, here's a film on the subject. It's the last word and very, VERY disturbing. You'll love it.

I saw it on Netflix (or rented it) and kinda wish I hadn't.

A couple of days. Work would notice immediately but as I live alone and no one around here has spare keys to the place, it'd take awhile for them to contact my parents and have them come up to check.
