I am a new seller on SF, but I run an online vintage shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/NewtonStreetVintage where I have a perfect feedback record. I have bought from the sales forum but this is my first sale: Tagged size 38R RLPL suit in a charcoal glen plaid, very muted, appearing solid at a distance. The cut is pure Purple Label: soft shoulder, lightly nipped waist, deep side vents. The trousers have button-tab side adjusters, double forward pleats, and gorgeous waistband construction inside and out. The sleeves have four functioning buttonholes each. Condition: Almost excellent, with two flaws. A couple of stitches have come loose in the left armpit lining, but these could be easily resewn by a competent tailor. There is some fraying at the bottom of the left trouser cuff. Other than these the condition is excellent. SOLD PM me or email me directly at newtonsuit@gmail.com, which is my shop email. Tagged size 38/32 Measurements: Armpit to armpit: 20.25 Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 17.75 Sleeve from shoulder: 24.5 Length from BOC: 30.5 Trouser Waist: 32 +1.5 to let out Inseam: 30.75 Rise: 12 Bottom hem width: 9 More photos: Close-up of lapel best shows color. Flaws documented in photos below. http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5223/...a8e14135_z.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5227/...2d25a380_z.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5021/...05ebda174f.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5065/...3339dd68_z.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5310/...885e7e21_z.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5226/...38876574_z.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5148/...da975fed_z.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5223/...0931f3fc_z.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5305/...858c9bce_z.jpg

100% worsted wool, four season weight, soft finish without a lot of sheen.

The black twill shiny fabric in the label photo is the bemberg rayon lining.

This is a great buy. I have to pass because it's slightly too big in the chest for me. Somebody get this though.

what was the chest measurement that made u passed it up? i'd assume 19" for a 38R suit?

Nice suit; these older Chester Barrie made RLPL seem to be holding up very well indeed despite their relative age. Very classic cut, with a pleasing lapel line, doubtless making it a versatile suit.

can always alter that, actually a well constructed pleat pants give a very nice clean line if you ask me.

Glad the sleeves are waaaaay too short for my long arms, or I'd be compelled to buy this.
